• THE FLOW OF SPACE IN THE CRACK

    Location: Beijing, China

    Time: 2014.

    Category: Personal installation

A small patch of loosened ground bricks lies in the back of college art gallery, and it has never been fixed simply because it’s almost invisible. When passing this place, I would intentionally roll over these bricks with my bike tires, leaving behind some buoyant sound“click click click”. It has enhanced the fun from biking as the commonly seen “aging” phenomenon brings joy to a “passerby.” Crack between bricks and the flow of space in the crack become the starting point for me to probe such sense of delight. The flow of space in the crack is a state that boundary changes constantly. Create order of the circular infinite space and pour mixture of liquid plaster and baking soda into it, resulting in interaction between accidental event generated by natural force and transparent crack space.
